The shoulder consists of 4 different functional joints. The most familiar is the glenohumeral joint where the upper arm bone articulates with socked of the shoulder. The joint that plays the most crucial role in function is the articulation the scapulae (shoulder blade) has with the rib cage. The shoulder blade is must be in contact with the rib cage for normal function. Good posture preserves the contact the shoulder blade needs with the rib cage.
Slumped posture results in the curving of the upper back and rib cage forward. This causes the shoulder blade to move up and off the rib cage and muscle designed to stabilize the rib cage not are working constantly to suspend it in a faulty position. This is the source of most upper back and neck pain. It also sets the shoulder up for mechanical overload. It combines manual therapy around a functional conditioning program to break faulty loading patterns. Load tolerance based milestones are built into the program to ensure safe progression.
It takes about 2 weeks to restore access to neutral spine alignment; another 2 weeks to condition you to perform you daily activities without faulty loading through the neck and low back. An additional month of group fitness classes is needed to condition you to perform your sport and recreational activities from neutral spine alignment. The SymFit® Healthy Neck program addresses neck strengthening from a simple premise; ensure that each vertebrae is aligned properly to ensure equal distribution of load within a functional conditioning program that has load tolerance based milestones to ensure safe progression.

The SymFit® Healthy Shoulder program will be modified for those that have had shoulder surgery consistent with your physicians orders.
